Yes, I've finally caught Sin City last night. We're a little slow over in Melbourne, y'see, when it comes to films. But damn, Sin City is hot! And the men...*hyperventilates* Clive Owen, Elijah Wood, Josh Hartnett, Benecio del Toro and the deliciously wicked Nick Stahl! It is definitely Sin City, with all the hot men! If you don't know by now, these are all my favourite Hollywood males! All of them in one film! Even though they played really weird characters(Elijah Wood as Kevin creeped the hell out of me, especially the sardonic smile that he had, it's still good. Nick Stahl was amazing, as usual. Although he sounded pretty drugged out. Does he really sound like that or..??? Hmmm...and while I admit Jessica Alba is hot, I find Rosario Dawson hotter. She has always fascinated me, simply because of her exotically good looks.
I really enjoyed Sin City, it was fun. The violence, the graphics...it was a comic strip came to life! But it was fun because of all the gore and violence. The best part is, they're all symbolic! I mean, you don't see real balls being ripped off or people being eaten...just graphical representation of the action. Nice...! :)
Hmmm...term so far has been great. I'm enjoying my politics subjects, and the media ones...they're allright. But I really love my politics subjects. Both my lecturers are a riot! No regrets choosing them! :) Ooh, food for thought: A Monash University academic has warned that students doing terrorism subjects will be under scrutiny by the federal police. This little nugget of information was published in today's edition of The Age newspaper, which I read briefly while popping by Diana's after class before we stopped by QV to do what we do best- talk about boys! But I digress. It's the whole scrutinise-students-doing-terrorism thing that bugs me. In the report, federal police came to a student's place and asked what sort of books he used in his research. Apparently, this guy has an Honours' Degree in Terrorism Studies. Sure, I'm studying something really topical but do they think I plan to do? Call Osama bin Laden and offer him service? Hello? That guy will not even see me, considering how orthodox (or unorthodox, depending on which side of the coin you're looking at) he is. And I have absolutely no intentions of being a terrorist. Me, Siti Norwahyu (a.k.a Nora) Hanafi, a terrorist? God forbid the thought! Why would do something so irrational? Honey, I may terrorise boys' hearts to bits, but I ain't going around bombing people to bits. Not my style at all.
I understand the high levels of paranoia right now, especially with the Commonwealth Games coming up soon, but this is just too weird! Us academics (or potential academics) are studying terrorism so that we'd be able to prepare for and handle such attacks (if any) in a better, so to speak, way. Right now I've all the odds stacked up against me-I'm a Muslim, and I'm studying terrorism. Alarm bells had better start ringing soon. *rolls eyes* It amazes me how some people are so gripped by fear that they'll unable to think rationally. And if you take one good look at me, how exactly do I fit the bill of a terrorist? Funneee. So far I'm not impressed. And to prove I have nothing to hide, I live in the Carlton area of Melbourne's inner urban, er, sector. At a student accomodation apartment thingy called College Square. I'll even tell you my life story if you want to know.
Such is life in terrorism-rocked 21st century. But then again, life goes on as usual. Tomorrow the band boy is cooking me dinner at his place...how romantic. And I'm going to spend the night there as well since I've no class on Friday. Heheh. Me likey.
